The two women meet at a support group and, despite their beyond polar-opposite personalities, become unlikely friends. As the women bond over countless bottles of wine and their losses, Judy tries to shield Jen from a shocking secret that could destroy her life as she knows it. Serena's thoughts

This is one of my favorite shows! I started watching during the pandemic because I am a huge fan of dark comedies, especially when the main characters are women. I love a good murder mystery that ties in comedic moments and a bit of romance, so Dead to Me was a no-brainer—I was hooked even after I just watched the trailer! I loved seeing the two women become best friends later in life. It really goes to show how female friendships are so important regardless of what your age is. I know that without a friend to confide in, it’s easy to feel lost and alone, and that was clear onscreen!

The recurring theme of the destructive force of hidden truths was interesting and refreshing to see. No one is rewarded for the secrets they keep, even though they’re trying to protect themselves and to protect each other. They’re both in mourning for similar losses, but go about it in very different ways, which I thought was also nice to see as an exploration of grief. Every episode was mysterious, and left me wanting more. I wish I could go back and watch it for the first time again. It’s so good!
