Synopsis

Workin’ Moms is a Canadian sitcom about a group of working mothers whose differences in parenting and lifestyles make them a hilarious group of women, whether they’re together at their kids’ school events, birthday parties, or alone with the kiddos. These moms, who all attend the same parenting group, build friendships as they go through the ups and downs of parenthood and returning to work after maternity leave. Viewers get a relatable look into the lives of these parents as they deal with relationships, friendships, parenting, and loss, all while trying to keep the ultimate work-life balance. Although this is definitely a comedy, there are some serious topics that everyone can relate to which lead to even more emotional engagement with the characters. The variety of characters keeps you wanting more of each storyline. This quirky comedy contains plenty of adult humor, so don’t watch it with the kids around!

Kassy's thoughts

I started watching this show when I was pregnant and let me tell you, I couldn’t stop cracking up! This was in the middle of 2020, so needless to say, things were a little crazy. I was in need of a good laugh and the humor had me hooked from the beginning. I really appreciated how many types of moms are portrayed in this comedy, even though parenting itself isn’t the main focus of the show. The main characters and their relationships, along with their jobs, and how they try to balance this with motherhood are shared in a way that feels relatable and honest. This show had me laughing, crying, and cackling, all within the same episode. Now that I have a one-and-a-half-year-old, it’s been cathartic to re-watch old seasons while I wait for new ones as I try to find my own balance between marriage, work, and motherhood!
